I’m political in terms of caring about the things that happen which I’m inevitably tied into. I do care about the upcoming election. Going into great detail makes me very tired because I don’t have enough hat-racks for those kinds of discussions yet.

I am very tired. I am very stressed and very busy. I appreciate the interest; though I should apologize for the shortness. I’ve had to concentrate in bursts to save my mind lately instead of standing in parking lots at universities yelling at people at 10 PM about the things that slip passed my gloves. Building a codex is a pain. Lexicon of possibility in some cornerverse somewhere? Probably.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate how amazing Bill Waterson was at art? Most of the comic strip was really cartooney but them he’d bust out stuff like this, and both styles in his hand were astoundingly beautiful.

Mosaics Created from Thousands of Hand-Cast Resin Flowers and Candy

New York artist Kevin Champeny merges aspects of painting, sculpture and mosaics with his large-scale images of skulls, flowers, and other objects. While the idea of creating images using thousands of components like this might not be particularly new, Champeny challenges himself by creating each tiny element by hand. He starts by building silicone molds of the original pieces, then casts them in color (meaning nothing is painted, each hue has to be mixed and cast) using various poly-urethane resins. The final objects numbering in the tens of thousands are then painstaking glued to a surface piece by piece, meaning that the entire process for each artwork spans several months to design, sculpt, mold, and cast. Amazingly the skull above is made from over 35,000 handmade flowers while the rose uses 15,000 resin candies. You can see much more of his work on his blog.

Abernathy and Werner always enjoyed fencing with bushbabies draped on their free-arm. Their foils jostled in a manner wayward-swordfish and their eyebrows twisted to their newton-cradle-rhythm.

Things moved slower for both of them in an adrena-fused waltz. For instance, Abernathy thought to himself not of his opponents’ weapon or its trajectory, but if he was descending quickly into alcoholism or dementia- getting caught up even as to which was preferable.

He could remember long and dire laments formed at the bottom of his trapezoidal shot glasses; they in each themselves seemed to be such innocent pleasures. Filtering his perception with this cosmic absinthe, standing over his oven in the blind morning making waffles with nothing more than a car battery, a Polly Pocket Playhouse, and a hot plate. The result being a grotesquery of misshapen faces and chairs miniature frozen into the batter-based dystopic-esque attempt at breakfast. However in the times he had, all food had a sovereignty natural and granted by way of circumstance and an empty pocket.

As a child, his eyes were weird and devilish like the sweet promisings of the scorpion to the frog.

“A meat cleaver,” he thought

“Has to be the sharpest, most uneven plate there ever was.”

His parents stared at each other in an awkward locking of the premiere of their sons’ first sentence spoken to them.

This new scene, this new style of audience always egging him on as a child. ”Train more!” from the bandstands towards him, “Do it better.”

These claws of demands became ever-seated-deeply in the annals of his catalogue. Building constantly to this confrontation- leading quickly as a locomotive made of foresight; climbing to this inevitable battle with Werner. This would be the apex of their childhoods; the decisive moment which would validate the entirety of his pressure, the demands of those around him, his loneliess, his lack of definition, and put to rest, finally, his wayward mind.

Werner hated ice cream.

Andy Goldsworthy was born in 1956 in Cheshire, England, is an extraordinary, innovative British artist whose collaborations with nature produce uniquely personal and intense artworks. Using a seemingly endless range of natural materials—snow, ice, leaves, bark, rock, clay, stones, feathers petals, twigs—he creates outdoor sculpture that manifests, however fleeting, a sympathetic contact with the natural world. Before they disappear, or as they disappear, Goldsworthy, records his work in suburb color photographs. Goldsworthy deliberately explores the tension of working in the area where he finds his materials, and is undeterred by changes by changes in the weather which may melt a spectacular ice arch or wash away a delicate structure of grasses. The intention is not to “make his mark” on the landscape, but rather to work with it instinctively, so that a delicate scene of bamboo or massive snow rings or a circle of leaves floating in a pool create a new perception and an ever growing understanding of the land.
